The most popular sport for significant companies to patron is undoubtably soccer. The apparent reason for the sport being so heavily favoured for sponsorship is essentially because the sport has the most spectators. One of the biggest transactions in sport is in sponsorship for events, and in specific sponsorship of things like the world cup. Audiences for the world cup final actually have frequently been the highest of any T.V. event in history, so it certainly will make for a terrific opportunity. Event sponsorship ideas can differ from sponsoring things like hoardings, but there are other things like sponsoring adverts or even sponsoring arenas. A sport that is enjoyed in a few nations around the world, but still has excellent viewership is snooker. The sport is mainly performed in the UK & Ireland, but also in China and a handful of sectors of South East Asia. As the sport is so well-known in China, there is a massive prospective for viewership in the country. The most watched participants will usually have the more lucrative sponsorship deals, but that is not to say that the lesser well known players don't receive considerable amounts of money. One English player, who is widely regarded as the greatest snooker play of all time, will bring in massive sponsorship deals.
